Christina Abraham

Cancer Co-Chair

Hello! I am Christina Abraham and I am currently a P3. I am also one of the co-chairs for the cancer initiative. Fun fact about me: The longest I have lived in a place is 5.5 years. In my spare time, I like to read and watch documentaries.

This year the cancer initiatives have some awesome events planned out for everyone. As pharmacy students, we are taught about the disease. But I hope through these events, the students get an opportunity to have a direct patient interaction as well as understand and empathize with these patients.

Why did you choose SNPhA? From the first day of school, I have seen how SNPhA has passionately served the underserved and it has inspired and motivated me to go out of my way to help anyone. And when I joined SNPhA, it felt like I was part of an amazing family.

Why did you choose SNPhA? I was born and raised in Houston, so it was natural for me to pick UHCOP as my home for the next few years. My involvement with SNPhA started when I was an undergraduate student at the University of Huston. I was inspired to pursue a pharmacy career after seeing how large of an impact pharmacy student were able to make by providing education and health screenings to underserved communities around Houston.

Idris Yusuf

Cancer Co-chair

Hey everyone! My name is Idris and I’m currently a P2. I’m really into modifying cars, fashion, and I love working out and playing basketball in my free time.

This year, the Cancer Initiative will work to expand on the events and opportunities that our co-chairs initiated last year. We plan to work on spreading awareness and educating our community about various types of cancer at health fairs and through social media. In addition, we will be hosting our Annual Oncology Seminar where invite oncology pharmacy residents and other pharmacists to speak about various topics. Let us know if you have any questions!
