Why did you choose SNPhA? I chose SNPhA because it is also a national organization in which allows me to explore and share my passions about pharmacy with not just my classmates but the community as well. SNPhA is an organization that allows students to learn not just about community pharmacy but also be able to explore the many different types of jobs that a pharmacist can do. With SNPha we are also able to reach out to those students in undergrad interested in the idea of becoming of a pharmacist and they are allowed to attend meeting to learn more and gives them opportunities to prepare for what is to come.

I'm currently starting my P3 year and looking forward to what this year has prepared for me. I'm the type of person who likes to get to know everyone, if you are shy I will introduce myself to you and attempt to see what interests you and show you what there is in this community that can broaden your horizons. I am very open minded and random, I can begin talking about one subject and eventually end up mid conversation talking about things such as "what if the leaves of tree are not really green?". I am always down for anything and love contributing my time and passion to any event that UHCOP has to offer the community when my time allows. I am a strong hispanic woman dealing with Hashimoto's, ADHD, and Fibromyalgia disease on a daily basis but I never let these struggles stop me from contributing my time and knowledge to the community. I am very open about the issues I deal with and if anyone ever has questions about them I am not afraid to answer them, I am also the first in my whole family to pursue a doctorates degree in the field of medicine. My grandmother is my true inspiration why I chose pharmacy as a career path, I watched her struggle for many years with Diabetes, CVD, Asthma, Anxiety, Depression, etc. and watching her made me want to know how medications work in the body and function to make us healthier. She is my number one support and always asks how my grades are and I love her to death. My personal interests include singing, dancing, video games, music, cooking, and poetry. I am only 3 poems away from being published so if you have any ideas I am always open to listening.

As fundraising chair I am responsible for being able to raise funds for the organization but also to be able to create fundraisers not solely based on money but also donation based in which these donations can be sent out to a community in need such as the homeless and children in need of school supplies. My goals this year is to have fundraising events that also allow us as pharmacy students to understand the importance of knowing what ingredients go into our foods that we consume so that we can also be able to educate the community who need to be on certain food diets. I also want to be able to have a donation based fundraiser co-op with the community outreach chairs to create satchels full of donation based items that are hygiene related that can be used on the go so that we can give these to the many homeless people we see outside in the community on a daily basis.
