SSHP & SNPhA's WOBBLE BEFORE YOU GOBBLE 4TH ANNUAL HEALTH FAIR
The freezing cold weather couldn't stop our UHSNPhAM from transforming the norm. This morning, we had the opportunity to provide health screenings, including blood glucose and pressure, at Pearland's largest annual family run and fitness community health fair. Huge thanks to the our friends in UHSSHP for the collaboration!

LOAVES & FISHES SOUP KITCHEN
On Friday, November 9, 2018, SNPhA members volunteered to prepare the food and help serve almost 300 lunches to the homeless community in downtown Houston. Our students also provided education on diabetes, stroke and smoking cessation. In addition, the toiletries, which had been collected over the past 3 weeks, were donated to the center to make into hygiene bags for the homeless.

HOUSTON APHASIA RECOVER CENTER HEALTH FAIR
On November 3rd, UH SNPhA held its 20th annual Alumni Dinner & Pre-Pharmacy Reception at the Student Center Ballroom. Coordinated by our alumni dinner coordinators & hosted by our P1 liaisons, the annual event provided an opportunity for our chapter to honor the contributions of UH SNPhA alumni and recognize Pre-pharmacy students within the organization. We’d like to thank all individuals who contributed to the planning/execution of the event, our sponsors HEB & Walgreens, members of the National SNPhA board in attendance, Dr. Lamar Pritchard for providing his remarks, and keynote speaker Dr. Rosalyn Adigun for her engaging presentation on the importance of discovering your norm before being able to Transform The Norm.

RICEVILLE MT. OLIVE BAPTIST CHURCH HEALTH FAIR
On Saturday, November 3rd, UH SNPhA partnered with Texas Southern University’s SNPhA chapter at the Riceville Mt. Olive Baptist Church Health Fair in Houston, TX. The event was apart of the church’s Fall Festival, which included other vendors & activities, such as a rock climbing wall. Patients received blood glucose & pressure screenings, as well as education on diabetes management & chronic kidney disease.
