Combating Cancer is a local initiative focused on improving cancer education and resources in underserved communities. By partnering with local and national organizations, our chairs aim to raise awareness about cancer and provide education on various types of cancer, as well as information on where to access screening resources, ensuring that those in underserved areas have the tools and knowledge needed for early detection and treatment

Adina Zidermanis
Hey y'all! My name is Adina (Z), and I am super excited to be a part of SNPhA. I come from a small town in North Texas called Slidell and moved to Houston to chase the dream of becoming a pharmacist and to learn valuable skills from one of the best schools out there—UHCOP! Go Coogs! I started working in H-E-B pharmacy and fell in love with the idea of how a drug can be used for multiple disease states, which inspired me to pursue pharmacy school. Now, I am meeting more patients involved in cancer care, and I want to be there with them in the fight.
Fun Fact: That small town, Slidell, is so tiny that I had the biggest high school graduating class of 21 students total. The year after me had just 13!
Ariana Yareli Mata
My name is Arianna, but I go by Ari! I joined SNPhA as cancer chair due to my own family experience with cancer. I wanted more than anything to make an impact on others going through the same things I am, as well as raise awareness on different types of cancer. When not in the hustle and bustle of school, I enjoy reading, rock climbing, and watching various tv series and movies (I love going to the movie theater!!).
Fun Fact: My dogson is a brown Pomeranian named Choco Puff Gordolfo Mata.
