The Legislative/Membership Benefits National Initiative strives to promote equal rights and to advocate for underserved populations. The purpose of this initiative is to increase registered voters and also to address, educate, and advocate for legislation that positively impacts the profession of pharmacy and issues related to healthcare for all patients, including the minority and underserved populations. This initiative is dedicated to enforcing and advocating for legislation.

Valeria hohl

My name is Valeria, and I’m a P3! I’m really into Stardew Valley, collecting different things, spending time with my two cats, and watching way too many cooking shows. Lately, I’ve been getting back into reading and have been enjoying nonfiction. I was drawn to pharmacy after watching my brother go through a clinical trial and seeing firsthand how impactful medications can be. I joined SNPhA because I’m passionate about getting more students involved in policy, which we don’t get enough exposure to as pharmacy students. Policies have been shaping and pushing our profession in different directions, and I think it’s important we understand and have a voice in that.

Fun Fact: I am going to a Laufey concert this fall!

Maddy fatsura

Hi everyone! My name is Maddy, and I’m a P3 currently serving as one of this year’s Legislation Chairs for SNPhA. I chose to pursue pharmacy because I’m passionate about working in a field that values community, lifelong learning, and advocacy. That same passion is what drew me to join SNPhA, an organization deeply committed to engaging with diverse communities through accessible care and education. Outside of school, I enjoy working out, volunteering at Special Pals (a local no-kill animal shelter), and watching movies.

Fun Fact: I love horror movies! I try to watch one weekly.
