The Legislative/Membership Benefits National Initiative strives to promote equal rights and to advocate for underserved populations. The purpose of this initiative is to increase registered voters and also to address, educate, and advocate for legislation that positively impacts the profession of pharmacy and issues related to healthcare for all patients, including the minority and underserved populations. This initiative is dedicated to enforcing and advocating for legislation.
Alec Chan
Hi, my name is Alec, and I am honored to serve as your SNPhA Legislative Co-Chair for 2024-2025. I joined SNPhA with a passion for giving back to underserved and minority communities. I decided to run for the Legislative Co-Chair position because I believe legislative action is a powerful tool for advancing the pharmacy profession and improving healthcare outcomes. Outside of pharmacy, I love staying active with volleyball and pickleball.
Fun Fact: When I’m not on the court, I’m probably challenging someone to a 1v1 match in DDR — think you can keep up?

I joined SNPhA because I wanted to be part of something bigger than myself. I’ve gradually seen the impact SNPhA makes on the community through educating parents, children, students, and other community members. I also view it as an opportunity to explore how legislative action affects our profession now and in the future. In my free time, I enjoy playing pickleball and going to the movies.
Fun Fact: I named my 100 lb+ dog after Appa from Avatar the Last Airbender
