The Bridging the Gap initiative aims to enrich the education of our members as well as providing a layered level of learning for mentorship between high school students, pre-pharmacy students, SNPhA members, and National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA) members.
Our community outreach chairs focus greatly on empowering underserved communities by hosting health fairs, providing vital health screenings, and educating the public on critical health issues. Through these events, we aim to increase health literacy and access to care, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to lead a healthier life. By bridging the gap in healthcare disparities, we strive to make a meaningful impact on the communities we serve.

Michael crichlow
My name is Michael and I’m a P3 who’s been the outreach chair for SNPhA and APSA for since the start of my P2 year. I love the thrill of setting up the event with our community outreach team and the impact we make to each person we speak to/screen.
In the free time I have, I tend to explore our concrete, Orange infested, jungle of Houston, cook a lot (cause every season is bulking season), and workout. I do my best to stay very open, and I stay at school for 2 days in the week from 5pm-10pm as a hall monitor with UHCOP. So, if you have any outreach questions or just wanna talk bout life, you know where to find me.
Fun Fact: In the past year I have organized SNPhA and APSA’s attendance to about 15 health fairs serving underserved, African-American communities.
Ramiro Juarez
Hello, my name is Ramiro. I am one of the community outreach chairs. I’ve been a pharmacy technician for 3 years and I’ve had the opportunity to go into the community via participating in Flu clinics. I’m looking forward to learning about and participating in health fairs with SNPhA.
Fun Fact: I’m left handed (no I’m not).

For me, I always knew I was going to pharmacy school. Pharmacy has always been a part of my life, from seeing my family as a whole doing medication reconciliation at a young to now working as a pharmacy intern at a hospital. When entering pharmacy school, I did not really know what field I was going to pursue, but I always knew I wanted to have patient interaction no matter work. There is so much to explore when it comes to pharmacy and that what I want to continue doing with my time with SNPhA.
Fun Fact: I am allergic to the cold (temperature) and get hives when the weather gets chilly.
Jason Pham
Hi everyone, my name is Jason and I will be one of your Community Outreach chairs this year! SNPhA initially caught my interest because it emphasizes care and service to underserved communities, particularly the Black community. I have always been passionate about helping others, even if it’s in small ways. I’m excited to work alongside the team this year to help create meaningful events that empower our communities!
