Why did you choose SNPhA? I found a home in SNPhA that allowed me to practice the skills I learn in pharmacy school while giving back to deserving communities. SNPhA’s commitment to service, the community and its members are unparalleled and an important factor to why I love SNPhA so much! It continuously amazes me how so many different individuals can come together and become a SNPhAmily. While our members & officers work endlessly to create events for our communities, it always been such a joy to attend every meeting and event. SNPhA is the embodiment of loving what you do and something that I am proud to be a member of!

Emily Cooper

President

My name is Emily (Emy) Cooper and I am originally from California and have lived in Texas for 5 years now! I have a strong passion for education and promoting social justice/equality. I also love to read, and I am OBSESSED with “The Office.”

As a past educator, I have a deep passion for helping others and empowering/helping communities in need. SNPhA enables me to continue this passion and incorporate it into my pharmacy career. While all organizations are amazing, SNPhA is unique with its mission to serving underserved communities.

As president, I aim to invite local community activists and service organizations to come educate our organization on the community and everyday issues that our future patients might be facing. I also would like to enrich our Yes-Prep Public-School community outreach program, in which our members would be able to teach students about health, perform health fairs, and mentor local teens. Furthermore, it is my mission to carry out our chapter’s theme “Passion Through Action,” by pushing for more interprofessional events and deepening our roots within the Houston community. I look forward to an amazing year of service with SNPhA and the community! Join me in turning your passion into action!
