Second General Meeting
Earlier today, UH SNPhA held our second general meeting of the semester. Members listened to speeches from the president-elect applicants on their plans for the position and for the future of SNPhA. We would also like to send a huge thank you to our guest speaker Dr. Ashley Tran, a former UH SNPhA president & now pharmacy manager at CVS for providing an interactive and engaging experience for our members. #UHSNPhA #StrengthInPurpose #TransformTheNorm #RegionIVAccomplishingMore
Immunization Game Night
Monday evening SNPhA and APhA-ASP Operation Immunization chairs collaborated in a fun-filled Immunization Game Night. Participants were tested on immunization knowledge and worked alongside peers ranging from P1’s to P3’s in order to answer questions regarding myths/facts, schedules, adverse reactions, and much more! Students competed against each other to win prizes while learning more about various vaccine facts. #UHSNPhA #TransformTheNorm #StrengthInPurpose #RegionIVAccomplishingMore
SNPhA Heart Awareness Health Fair
Sunday afternoon UH students partnered with the Cameron Juniel Project to provide services at the Windsor Village United Methodist Church. The Cameron Juniel Project ran by Mrs. Sherri Juniel serves to raise awareness for Sudden Cardiac Arrest in teenage student athletes. As the cardiologists performed free EKG screenings for patients, UH pharmacy students were able to provide the church members with blood pressure and glucose screenings, and education. The event was able to reach many patients as a collaborative effort to raise awareness. We are looking forward to future alliances with The Cameron Juniel Project! #UHSNPhA #TransformTheNorm #StrengthInPurpose #RegionIVAccomplishingMore
Hunger For Love Health Fair (022319)
Early Saturday morning, UH SNPhA traveled to Tyler, TX for a collaborative health service event with UT Tyler SNPhA and Hunger For Love Church. Students provided blood glucose, cholesterol, and pressure screenings as well as education on the benefits of smoking cessation to the patients in the Tyler community. Special thanks to Antonio, Cherryl, and Lindsey for inviting us to participate in the event & UT Tyler for taking the time to have lunch with us and give us a tour of the beautiful campus. Also, thank you to everyone who donated to support our clothing & toiletry drive for the event! #UHSNPhA #TransformTheNorm #StrengthInPurpose #RegionIVAccomplishingMore
